I've heard that "you have to know someone" to get a job/career there? Is this true. Also, my friend said that Edison deals with water? I'm getting my degree in Environmental Science and have heard that my major would be good for Edison? Any comment will he helpful.

Stop listening to your friend. Have you even Googled them and visited their web site?

I worked for Edison in summer 1984 as a college intern. I didn't know anybody. I forgot how I got the job. (Took a vanpool from Woodland Hills to Rosemead that Olympic summer.)

Edison has a lot of hydro up around shaver and wishon, it's always easier to get on if you know someone, I know a few who work for them and yes they knew someone but with that said if you have what they want and need at the time then you get on.

I think so. Energy providers have to comply with a variety of environmental regulations, coordinate with government agencies, and process entitlements (which includes obtaining environmental clearances).

I don't know if you have to know someone to work there. I suppose every job is kind of like that but if you have a skill set the company is looking for then I can't see how not knowing someone will affect your chances.
