Sports teams are merely corporations existing to create profits for the owners. Any government assistance is corporate welfare.

This idea that any place deserves or does not deserve a particular corporation is a bit out there.

The economic development/payback doesn't exist; the numbers don't just not work, they represent one of the poorest investments government can make in the name of the people.

As they say, there's no there there.

BTW, which team is most likely to move into the proposed Los Angeles stadium? Who is it for?
yeah but since California won't build a new NFL stadium, and California is a state in debt right now, a Super Bowl would do wonders for the California Economy

The teams that I've seen that have the highest possibility/probability of moving are the Chargers, the Rams (again), the Raiders, and the Vikings.

Of those, it sounds like the Chargers are highest on the list simply because of their stadium situation in San Diego.

Personally I'd like the Rams to come back.

I can't see the Vikings leaving Minnesota regardless of their stadium situation. Minnesota doesn't want to lose another team to L.A. (first being the Lakers).

And I say "hell no" to the Raiders.

the stadium in L.A. has not officially broken ground yet, and no NFL team has heavily flirted with L.A. about relocating there, it's all speculation, but anyway, California needs to have a Super Bowl hosted because it would help California's economy a lot, economics being the main reason

No it wouldn't.

The Super Bowl is a temporary event that does nothing long-term for the economy. From a spending perspective it is a drop in the bucket compared to the overall GDP.

Would it be nice to have one? Sure.

But it's not some sort of economic salvation.

The Giants sold out every game this year, I think there are a few things to do in San Fransisco. Geeze, make sense sometimes.........

The funniest part is when Californians get upset when people back east point out that they are not real sports fans.
So to be a real sports fan, you have to let rich owners get big stadiums on the tax payers dime?

Who are you talking about, teenagers? No full grown adults with healthy perspectives on life care about what others say regarding their sports loyalties.

And for the record, people "back east" care way more about us than we do about them or their opinions.

Actually instead of just building a single stadium they could build a Stadium Park as they did when they built the Reliant Stadium in Houston.

Reliant Park | Your Houston Host with a Stadium, Convention Center, Sport Arena and Hundreds of Meeting Rooms and Halls in Houston, TX.

The stadiums are not only used for football games they host many other events throughout the years when the stadium is not being used for football. Here are just a few examples of what else the Park is used for other then just football.

Concerts
Monster Car Shows
Boxing Events
Motocross Racing
Family Events Shows
High shool Band Competitions
High school Drill Team Competitions
High school Cheerleading Competitions
Trade Shows
Consumer Shows
BBQ and Chili Cookoffs
Company Seminars

All kinds of events which generates money and provides entertainment.
