Totally different situation. The Republicans control only the House, which can't pass anything on its own. In California, the entire legislature and executive branch are all controlled by one party.

Oh. I see.

So, even though nothing can be done without the cooperation of the House -- which cooperation the House majority adamantly refuses to engage in -- then it's not tyranny ... perhaps just "good governance"?

I guess 'tyranny' is when a group can pass anything it wants without opposition ... but 'tyranny' is not when a group can totally stop anything from passing. Got it.

The Peoples Socialist Republic of Mexifornia becomes ever more a reality as the Bolsheviks consolidate and focus their power within the state. We may not actually see them yet, but for practical purposes the Hammer & Sickle banner is already fluttering from many of our flagpoles.

Exactly, Chief ... perfect image to sum up the aggregate effect of conflating the externalities, no?

Well conflate it all, that would be Yes!

The GOP has been trying to stop this anti-American activity and restore our country. You call this obstruction but we call it trying to obstruct the destruction of America.
Exactly!

When a steaming pile of crap comes rolling my way, I build a wall to keep it at bay.

That's not obstruction, just good sense.

That being said, most of us only see the "red meat" of these bills....i.e, "oh but it's for the kids", or "oh, it's to save our environment". The majority of us do NOT see the hidden BS that is typically ensconced within these bills.

It's nice to discuss them on a website forum, but don't fool yourself into thinking you really know what's attempting to be foisted upon us.

Sure you're right. After 20 years as a state legislative analyst in Sacramento - same for my wife - we must not have the first idea of what's contained in those many bills that are introduced and move through the Legislature. What to do? What to do?

Not all the sheeple are as ignorant as may be supposed - a goodly number to be sure - but some actually have brains capable of critical thinking and inquiring minds to match.
