No response from the ususal excuse makers? Then I'll play liberal mush-head and answer for them:

1. It's not California's fault. The entire nation has been struggling.
2. Give Brown more time. He inherited a big mess from Arnie.
3. No one is leaving CA. Look at the lines at Starbucks.
4. California has the world's 7th largest economy. Everything will work itself out in time.
5. Even when CA is broke it will still have better weather than anywhere else. Especially Texas.
6. Taxes are deductible. So they don't cost anything anyway.
7. Businesses so greedy as to complain about paying their fair share aren't wanted here anyway.
8. The source for this article is tainted. Just like all other critical sources.

You forgot:

The illegals are a net plus. If we could just add more illegals it would require more housing, which is adding jobs. Plus their kids and relatives vote.

9. If things get too bad the Federal Government will bail us out.
10. Deficet spending does not matter because we just owe the money to ourselves.

Please provide a link for this claim as it appears I need to shoot a fact check email to the Sacramento Bee.

What's happened is the number of affluent households in that time period shrank due to people losing their jobs, even in that income bracket.

And it has NOT declined by a third. More like 5%.

As far as moving out of state, we know that the number of people moving has shrank significantly in the past 5 years.
