^^^so pithy.

Jay, june is a beautiful time of year for your visit ... one of the best times of year if not the best.
I wouldn't "expect" anything ... just be open and enjoy.

Very true.

I lived in ML for a few years in early 2000's. Beautiful part of the world and you can't really go wrong visiting at any time of year.

Jay, can you be more specific?

Off season rates
Mountain biking taking the gondola to the top and riding down, pretty cheap too.
Fishing (check on season)
Hot springs, get this book it will show you were all the natural hot springs are, easily accessible from most roads, many are right near the Mammoth Airport: Amazon.com: Hot Springs and Hot Pools of the Southwest: Jayson Loam's Original Guide (9781890880057): Marjorie Gersh-Young: Books

I've visited June Lake (just a bit further north) since Mammoth is a bit too crowded for my taste and it's an idyllic and tranquil place.
