My wife currently works for a company that is moving to Nevada. She will continue to work here in CA (out of our home), but the company will no longer have any other presence here in CA. How is her CA state taxes going to be handled?

Taxed as normal. If the company does not withdraw the proper state tax you will have to pay them yourself.

Work in California, pay California payroll tax rates as a regular employee of course.

Also your yearly taxes won't change at all. Now if she is a contract 1099 employee that could be a different ball game and you need a good accountant.

Thanks for the replies. I suspect that they won't withhold any CA state taxes from her check, so I will check with my tax guy to see how much we should pull out and put aside. Is there anything that the employer normally pays that she will now have to cover?

True, but I'm not sure what other info I can give, as I don't know at this time how the company is going to handle their end. What I'm worried about mainly is any "employer paid" items that she may now be responsible for, which could in effect actually increase her tax liability. I'm not real confident that the company (small, new) is going to do anything right, as they have already told her that she will need to clock out for her morning & afternoon break, which is incorrrect, so...
