Default Is the income avg right for Santa Barbara?

cause the rents are so high for it to be accurate I'd think, no? The rents are similar to SF but the income is half?

And the crime is a lot higher than I expected, is it as bad as it seems on this site?

Lots of students and retired people up there bringing down the average income numbers. There's also a lot of wealthy people who can push up the housing prices.

I haven't spent much time there but its a nice area if you can afford it. I understand that lots of people have to commute significant distances to find more affordable housing. 101 can get pretty congested too.

I'm in Sf now, so high rents seem to be norm to me by now, just wish there was more to rent in the mid section, lots of cheap and lots of 10,0000+ but not a lot in the middle
