That it may be, but burning liquified dinosaurs is much more fun.

Until there aren't any left to burn anymore.

It means ~30 minutes at the high charge and 1.5 hours if you're just using a regular wall socket charger (the ones designed to run an electric drier).

What do you mean by "charge"? On the video of the test-drive to Vegas, it took 8 hrs. to charge the car at an ordinary charger, and an hour at the high-powered station. That's to fully charge the car from close to 0 to its capacity: 250 was the limit of that model car.

The expected answer from a conservative is coal burning engines after the gas is gone. Still have lots of coal left.

Coal is foul, though. Trashes the air. Ralph Nader used to write about steam-powered vehicles being feasible. I don't know if he was right or not.

Well, he's right theoretically until we need more water to drink and for farming than burn off into steam. Not sure on the engineering to get a steam engine small enough to power a small vehicle though. Horsepower to weight and stuff like that. Might have a steam powered unicycle. I know coal is foul though, just a small joke in there.

I came across some old articles of his that said it's doable, but it's such a simple design, the auto companies wouldn't want it to happen, because there's not enough technology to allow them to ratchet up the price. I don't think he ever built one, though. I don't know that he ever had a concrete design for one, so it may have just been more of a theory in his head.

Yeah, I don't doubt it as we had steam trains. I just don't know how practical the design is really, lol. Back to on topic cause that's a major concern right now. The Tesla is cool, to bad it's a low volume production car.

I bet they'll gear up and produce more, once they solve some of the problems with the first run. And maybe the price will come down a bit, too.
