What is the wind like in the Tehachapi area? Is Bear Valley Springs affected by wind? What about Stallion Springs? Do you get severe dust storms often? Can I get feedback from people who actually live in this area? Thanks for your information.

Wind is never a problem for the wind turbines there. Ought to give you a clue. Sorry I don't have the street cred to actually deal with the day to day life there.

Wind has no problem in Tehachapi. It blows as free as it pleases there.
Nearby towns are not so adversely affected as to cause great concern about living there.

I drive through there a couple of times/year and spend a couple of days each time. Never noticed wind, ever. The turbines are located away from town in an area that kind of funnels the wind, so it doesn't affect the town much, if at all. When the turbines are active, the town is calm. I don't see it as an issue, but you might Google weather sites for the town to get the information you're looking for.

Thanks for your comments. I've been following the weather there online for a month or so and was hoping for first hand feedback from folks actually spending time there.

Wind problem? In Tehachapi?

No, no, no, no...

Still as can be. In fact, it's so still they had to build this massive array of giant fans just to generate some breeze!

Wind is cold and a pain, worst November-May. Summer is nice, at be June and into the end if October. November, December okay. The rest sucks. Don't forget the fig rolling in from the Valley, especially Stallion, and the Air Quality coming through from the San Joaquin. Mercury is an issue from the local cement plant factory. Grandfathered so they spill crap in the air--linked to Autoimmune diseases. It beats me people that want yo live in polluted areas. I worked for the local air pollution control district. People think the cement plant is a friend. So fooled!
