I will be visiting California in July, starting in San Jose (Sunnyvale):

I have currently seen some very nice properties in Malibu, and right now. Malibu is my primary consideration, second to that would be Manhattan by default.

Unfortunately I won't be able to stay overnight in many towns due to my age (Most hotels only allow 21-year-olds).

Here are my circumstances:

  • Single, Male, 18 - Vegetarian, Don't Drive (No License, Don't Intend Getting One)
  • Introverted; Enjoys Scenic Unimpaired Views of the Ocean; Semi-Isolated (or whatever you'd consider Malibu Hills to be)
  • Independently Wealthy with Budget of $2.2M for Property (I am looking at self-sufficiency improvements, such as adding solar panels and wind turbines, etc, so deduct $200,000 from budget for that specifically)

What areas should I consider?

I should have expanded on the previous thread, however, I believe a new thread is in order. Feel free to ask questions. I haven't been in SoCal since 2010 and NorCal since 2009.

It's definitely an alright feeling. But when 99.9% is tied up in Bitcoin, it's like a permanent roller coaster. I'd say it's the most stressful thing - ever - Also Sudden Wealth Syndrome + Bitcoin = Stressed Nervous Wreck.

But it will all be worth it soon.

Let's see:
Millions of dollars tied up in Bitcoin.
And it's "the most stressful thing ever".

"Ever" being all of 18 years?
Young man, you have a lot yet to learn about stress.

Yeah, per your previous posts, you can forget about Malibu ever seceding from the County, and you will have to pay property taxes.

And while you're at it, add a lot more money to your budget to install and maintain your own fire protection system in the Malibu Hills.

Wisdom is something you should consider investing in. You have so much ahead in life.

Question: What do you want in life?

I am wanting to consider somewhere a little more remote and less known than Malibu. I do like Malibu. But I have a little quirk when it comes to people tainting areas.

For example: Someone who dislikes me goes on vacation yearly to an area, in let's say, Florida. That area becomes tainted personally for me. It's a bad habit, but I genuinely dislike being in areas in which people who dislike me or I dislike live in, or regularly travel to.

Secondly, I don't want my home becomes a bed-and-breakfast for "friends" who travel from LA to SF and vice versa.
