As you know many people think Californians could be quite rude.

So what California city do you think has the people with the worst attitudes?

No one who doesn't live in any of those communities can answer that poll. It's speculative, at best. I could say that I'm familiar with three on the list and they have both nice and rude people. That's the case for every place in the U.S.

There are rude people all over the world (along with many polite/considerate/caring people)...People are people and humanity transcends state borders. Rudeness isn't confined by state boundaries. If you haven't figured this out yet then I don't know what to say. You should explore the world and this country or this state for that matter quite a bit more.

I live in the SF Bay Area where NUMEROUS negative stereotypes abound from people outside the region. I don't fit any of the negative stereotypes and don't associate with anybody else who does...and can only assume I'm not alone.

Santa Ana they kill you for being snobby, hence the reason why it did not make the list.

I can only vote based in my experiences, and since I haven't traveled much, especially lately, I had to vote for where I live.

Most of the experiences of local rudeness that come to my mind involve inconsiderate & reckless automobile drivers and the fact that a lot of pedestrians get killed by automobiles here. I've had close calls myself.

A lot of automobile drivers here:
1. don't yield to pedestrians.
2. block crosswalks when stopped at a traffic light.
3. just roll on through stop signs and red lights (usually when making a right turn) regardless of pedestrians crossing.
4. honk their horn if the automobile in front of them is stopped to yield to a pedestrian who's crossing the street.
5. illegally block the sidewalk for pedestrians by parking in their short driveways. Pedestrians then have to risk walking out into the street to get around.
6. double park.
7. don't park close enough to driveway curb ramps so the other vehicles can also park in a spot that can otherwise fit two or more vehicles.

Also, a lot of the dog walkers leave slip hazards on the sidewalks and in parks despite a $310 fine if the poopetrator's walker is caught in the act of not picking it up.

Even one of my neighbors, at least I think he's a neighbor, waited at my property gate while he waited for his unleashed dog to do his or her business in my yard... then he left the surprise there. He apparently saw the security camera, he looked up at it, but he didn't care.

A lot of people in my neighborhood have to go as far as putting up pictorial signs depicting a dog doing its business with a red slashed circle because of those rude people.

At the grocery store some people will inconsiderately park their shopping carts right in the middle of the isle and wander off or be oblivious that someone else needs to get by and would be able to if they'd park the cart to one side or the other. Then sometimes if you move their cart to get around, they get angry.

Enough people leave their trash at the beach to make it look like a dump.

It used to not be like this here, but the first dot com boom for some reason started bringing a lot of inconsiderate people to my area who don't seem to care. I guess it goes along with materialism being connected with rude, selfish behavior.

Not everyone here is inconsiderate toward others, but more than enough are to notice!

That's really a shame. I haven't traveled to The City much for the last ten years (Dr.'s appointments at UCSF have been about it unfortunately). From the late 70s to the late 90s I went quite a lot and was always impressed how friendly and willing to talk to visitors the residents were there. Then again, there were over a 100,000 less people living there at that time (and a greater spread of wealthy, middle class and poor).

I voted for Sacramento. I lived there a long time ago, but since I'm only a little over an hour north and its the nearest city to me I still go quite often. Residents always seem suspicious of strangers and don't seem particularly friendly. Plus the traffic habits of many are pretty bad. I moved to Fresno after Sacramento and found it WAY friendlier and easy going by comparison. I still like Sac, but the temperament of the people reminds me more of Portland or Seattle than a California city.
