I was just reading on this one website. It was saying San Luis Obispo has a higher crime rate than Los Angeles. Do you think it's more dangerous in SLO than LA?

Lol.

The only thing to add would be hell no.

SLO is incredibly safe. L.A. Is so vast and has problem areas. Still, L.A.'s crime rate the last few years has been insanely low. Safest stretch since late 50s/early 60s.

San Diego's crime has held steady to slightly risen. That place is still Leave it to Beaver safe for a city that size.

^^^This.

The only crime that occurs there is when Cal Poly somehow manages to beat the Gauchos in the ongoing CPSLO/UCSB soccer rivalry.

It is a lot closer than many would believe. As a whole, San Luis Obispo is 9% safer than Los Angeles.
2012 crime index San Luis Obispo = 250 http://www.city-data.com/city/San-Lu...alifornia.html
2012 crime index Los Angeles = 275 http://www.city-data.com/city/Los-An...alifornia.html

San Luis Obispo has a population around 45,000. There are several pockets of Los Angeles of 45,000 people where it is much safer than San Luis Obispo

Reported SLO crimes in the past year within a 1 mile radius, and what little there is mostly seems like petty theft:

you really cant compare a city the size of LA to San Luis Obispo.

You can compare neighborhoods to SLO.

all i can tell you is that LA has become the safest big city in America.

When I think of SLO, I never, ever think "high crime rate."
