So a couple of the Mom and Pops in this little town are showing a news aspect of this plastic bag ban.

You buy a bag, and you get a PLASTIC bag. A nice plastic bag. 6 mil at least - better than your typical leaf bag. Says right on it "reusable". Says somewhere in small print "recyclable". Kinda like the plastic bags they replace.

Maybe the whole industry will go this direction. Save the trees!

Yep ... no more plastic bags. Morons!

Some people just don't know when to stop fighting. Immediately after Gov. Jerry Brown signed the nation's first statewide ban on disposable plastic bags, the plastics industry vowed to overturn it. Since then, out-of-state bag makers have contributed $2.5 million to help collect 504,000 signatures by the end of the year to put a referendum on the November 2016 ballot reversing the ban, despite polls showing that it has widespread support.

If you buy a bag then at least you're not going to waste 20 bags like they used to do when bags were still free and I regularly got single items wrapped in a plastic bag.

I have no problem with this ban. Good for the environment.

5.1 trillion pieces of plastic floating around in the world's oceans, good for California for taking the first steps to confront this problem. Kudos for being adults and confronting our environmental issues rather than being like children and ignoring them or denying their existence as so many do today.

That's because you have to really WANT it. Those that do are absolutely desperate to feel this particular boot of oppression.

The poorest analogy I've read in a long time.

That's curious, because it wasn't an analogy. Try rhetorical absurdity.

Every time I go to the grocery store I say to the cashier why no more plastic bags? Then I say in a loud voice, because of Democrats, thats why.

I dont' really care about the plastic bag ban, probably because I'm old enough to remember life before plastic bags. You kids today.
