By far the most of any other state as usual. Bored, liberal dictators just looking for more ways to control your life with rules and regulations. This state is pathetic.

By far the biggest, most populated, most complex, most diversified economy of all states. Also the leader in so many ways. And most economically successful.

Yeah, that's "pathetic". As opposed to sitting around crying like a little kid who wants more toys and no bedtime?

Yeah, we know complexity is dreary. Time to flee for simpler pastures, with simpler residents, no?

It bothers me because it's messy. So many of our annual "new laws" are not new at all and just enforce or redefine existing law. And many existing laws are what I'd call "commen sense" but apparently enough people lack it that we end up with a never ending stack of laws that nobody ever really gets a handle on and are constantly being challenged.

This isn't specific to CA, but part of me feels all laws that effect citizens can be contained in a simple 3 ring binder. Everything else is overkill.

Busybody lawyers coming up with wacky new lawsuits require checks on their often nefarious ways, whichever way their particular views may lean. Our litigious society necessitates it.

If it's pathetic then get the **** out. Nobody is asking you to stay with your pessimism.

The general gist of the new laws: less freedom, more punishment, except for illegal immigrants.
