Some examples:

The DMV requires you to register your car and renew every year. Now they are providing an "essential" service. The DEA requires doctors, dentists, pharmacies to register with them. That's another "essential" service provided whether people want it or not. Overtime we are conditioned into accepting these "essential" services as part of life.

Taxpayers who dare questioning why they are being taxed to death to pay for the King and Queen government employee pensions are met, of course, with contempt.
what I cant understand is that with all the technology now available. there are still a lot of people going to the DMV. I only went there when I was applying for my drivers license and when there is a need to correct the name on the title of our car. all other transactions are done online.

don't tell me all the people there are all applying license for the first time?

my 89 year old dad just had to go to the DMV to renew his license so he had to take the written and eye test there. He didn't pass the eye test so had to get cataract surgery then go back twice more to retest before they passed him. Every time he had to wait in a long line.

Congrats that your dear dad is still driving. Had the same for my mother when she was 84. No waiting in line, though. Make an appointment next time and he won't have to wait.

I agree. I worked form some in management and scratched my head in wonder how they got their position. I'd like to think it was qualifications but then I remember an old saying 'it's who you know and who you .' sorry for being crass but it's true
