I worked in a public agency for well over 2 decades, I never enjoyed a "lavish life". My son works as an accountant for a public agency, he does not have anything that even approaches a "lavish life".

Lavish? I don't find living on $21000 a year very lavish.

Might I suggest you not post about things about which you are ignorant. It really doesn't benefit you.

Your suppositions that civil service employees earn four times what their private sector counterparts do and have lavish lifestyles are ludicrous. Civil service has historically paid less, often far less, which is the main reason benefits and pensions have been good - the latter is not lavish either - in order to attract qualified people. California has the lowest number of workers, per capita, of any of the states and the largest population. That means it's employees have to work harder for more people than elsewhere.

Working people won't be able to cover those King and Queen pensions. The state will raise car taxes, sales taxes and property taxes to take care of their own.

Public worker unions are robbing people blind.

They become civil servants because they care and and want to serve. Yeah, right.

Well right now the "deficit" in the pension plans seems to be about $3000.00 for every person in the State. If we just count working people it is a LOT more and that will go up every day. Anyone seen any plan to fix it besides raising taxes? Interest rates are not going up enough any time soon.
