2022 data for homicides

This is incomplete data, so some cities actually have a worse rate.

Bakersfield seems kind of high. Is it legit? Same for miami.

Checked into it and bako didnt have 97 homicides in 2022. 97 is for the whole county.

So California only has two megaviolent cities left - oakland and san bernardino (not listed)

What does 'days missing' mean and what's the source? FBI ucr?
Not that I disagree that California is relatively safe compared to elsewhere in the nation, homicides aren't the whole picture of violent crime so that's a bit too specific.

Homicides are the hardest crimes for a police department to fudge the data on. Theyre a very important stat to look at.

Data miners provided me with these stats. You can google to verify most cities on this list.

Days missing are just what is says. Days with missing data. Just google a city with missing days to find the current number.

Looking at the list, California seems to be doing relatively well sans Oakland.

California crime nowadays is nothing compared to like 30 years ago.

It's more an issue of catalytic converter theft, retail theft, and being threatened/assaulted by unhoused individuals

The City of Baltimore reduced the number of homicides in one year but they can't find the heads. Seriously, there were so many bodies stashed in abandoned homes that neighbors who followed their nose, directed the police to the bodies which were all labeled suicides.

A lot of the right-wingers who bash California and seem to pine for the 1970s, 80s and 90s; really overlook how nasty the crime rate actually was.

We had serial killers galore, gangland violence, a meth epidemic in the rural areas, and lots of random murders.

They miss how white and conservative ca used to be. Brown people are scary to old people.
