I don't know about that cursive one. I'm told cursive writing is no longer taught in schools. How will youngsters know what it says if they can't read it?

If I could just slap that thing over my own license plate before I got to the toll booth, some other sucker would be paying for the bridge crossing.

The first thing that comes to my head is pride -- pride that I live in a state that did not vote for the vile human being that resides in the White House.

I wish they never would’ve brought back the black plates. But since that genie is out of the bottle only those with a car from the 1960’s should’ve been allowed to buy them. As a classic car owner I think they look foolish on new cars.

I’ve always loved the sunset plates from the 1980’s. They were originally vanity plates, but became standard issue, albeit with a bit darker shade, for a quick minute. I actually prefer the white plates with California in block letters that replaced those over the current cursive ones.

I guess our prisoners have too much time on their hands for all the times we change plate styles.

When I lived in South Florida and saw a New Jersey or New York plate, this is what came to my mind.

"What is the first thing that comes in your head when you see the California license plate?"

How great California used to be.

The first thing that comes in my mind when looking at the license plate is a paradise with perfect weather with beautiful sunshine, beautiful scenery, beautiful beaches, and tons of palm trees. California is known for its beautiful girls. The license plate brings to my mind an attractive white girl with blonde hair, sunglasses, and Hollywood looks. To me, the license plate looks like it belongs on a fancy convertible with an attractive blonde white girl. (In reality, California has a declining white population).

By this question, I mean what happens if you see the plate? (I am not talking about when you see it in your state!) Like what does the plate remind you of?
I think of my sister, who lives in Los Angeles. After that, I think of nine National Parks, nearly two dozen National Forests, arguably the best state park system in the country, and far more federally designated wilderness than any other state in the lower 48. Far all its population, California is blessed with vast tracts of empty wilderness (and anyone who can't find that sort of solitude, even in parks - yes, it is there, too, and in abundance - is a fool).

PS - The bolded above had absolutely nothing to do with your post. But you just couldn't help yourself, could you?

PPS - California's white population is not decreasing. California's non-Latino white population is decreasing, but why exclude those Latinos who are white? Hint: Latino is ethnic; white is race - if you don't understand this, and thus cannot understand that there is overlap between the two, then you should educate yourself.

I would think of it as the SD/OC stereotype, but that would still include some LA County Beach cities.

You live in the state that cast the third highest vote total for President Trump. Only Texas and Florida cast more votes for him.

Texas prisoners are even busier. There are four fairly common designs, plus a lot of college plates (inclusing out of state colleges) and professional sports team plates.

Agree with the idea about limiting the black/yellow to cars from that time period. I think the blue/yellow started in the late 1970s.

My favorite is the Sunset plate. I got to California a few years too late for that.

^^ This was an awesome lic. plate. I still see it on older vehicle from time to time.

Louisiana tried to copy CA lic plate.

I also like the ocean and El Capitan CA place, they are quite nice. BTW, I pay $400 for my trucks when I could be paying $30 in North Carolina.

What do I think when I see a CA plate, there is another drive clogging up the damn SoCal freeways.

OP, post this in the Texas forum for kicks and see what kind of response you get. LOL
