Well, they definitely were NOT rich (retired military folks), and this way a long time ago (back in the 70s/80s), but they certainly made a point to let everyone know why they moved back to SD. At any rate, my point remains: when I retire, I don't want it to be in a country that's got rampant corruption. As much as I love Mexico, I think things are actually getting worse.

No, I would rather stay here in the U.S. The police in Mexico are corrupt and there also the drug cartels.

My inlaws live in mazetlan and they love it, I visited and it was fine. I have never heard of this confiscation of property thing before outside of lavish vilas owned by the filthy rich. I suppose if you were causing a political stink as a noncitizen they may make an example ...

I would want details because I have never heard of this happening to ordinary people in Mexico.

Yea because our police state and politicans are not corrupt lol. They are just alot smarter and use ursury and graft behind the scence instead of more honest tactics of corruption.

honest corruption? What's that? I googled it but can't find anything that says what that is exactly.

Where they actually take it through the point of a gun rather than through complex schemes like inflating your money away controlling interest rates or excessive taxes on veterans and the middle class rather than taxing the rich. etc.
