Yeah. The fact that human beings have ALWAYS sold things to each other on streets and roads since we emerged from cave dwellings 10,000 years ago is no reason to think it’s a normal thing to do.

Whatever will they think of next to allow that people have always done legally?

I sure hope they are getting regular food and health inspections and police are cracking down on counterfeit items. Because legalizing sidewalk vending won't exacerbate that problem...

This is a thing to help illegals . Yet the same party doesn’t care when legal Americans immigrant and others struggle to run an actual brick and mortar business .

If they aren’t paying taxes which most aren’t since they are illegal how does this help the community ? Then being here illegally is their problem .

“Senate Bill 946 was authored by Sen. Ricardo Lara, D-Bell Gardens, who said part of his motivation was because many sidewalk vendors are immigrants who are in the country illegally, and a criminal violation could lead to deportation.”

And we know they won’t be bothered or fined now. What will the repercussions be ? Nothing.
It’ll degrade communities more .

It’s a double standard .

If you spend say $300k-$1 million to open a business you have to have licenses , pay taxes , pay high minimum wages , have insurance . Inspections etc

But if here illegally just open up shop on the street start making money no taxes etc .

In my area there are many of these stands on the sidewalk , pretty sure none tax credit cards , all cash .
No bathrooms nearby they usually operate at night . Also no concern about the impact of brick and mortar places .

There was a brick and mortar Mexican restaurant closed recently I wouldn’t be surprised if all the illegal stands cut into their business.

Why are we lowering our standards to benefit people that came here illegally and don’t respect our immigration laws?

Can legal citizens open these up or just illegals ?

Will the vendors have to pay a fee to operate or just a free for all ?

Do legal citizens have to pay taxes or do they get away with just doing cash under the table?
