It appears based on what I see on the media that even CA democrats are calling the High speed rail project quits. Apparently even they finally realized its going to be a train to nowhere and funding down the drain.

Though with the project scrapped how will the funds be proportioned?

Will it be used to build semi HSR regionally?

Build better heavy rail metros, which costs significantly more than HSR per mile.

Tunnel Interstate freeways where there are significant gaps in freeway access i.e parts of San Francisco and western Los Angeles?

Maybe build a large new multi International airport directly linked to existing Tijuana airport and Brown Field Municipal airport with proper International transit zone interconnect by Cross border Xpress. With a Express rail system HSR like system to bring passengers between the airport and the busiest border crossing with dedicated immigration facility to San Diego, UTC/Serrento Valley, and towards LAX and Los Angeles.

Don't want to sound like an a**, but there's literally three active threads on HSR in the California forum.

Sorry I meant funding,

Maybe I should had asked whether the funds should be regionally on developing new airports and express rail instead.
