I'm delighted, the past two weeks or three weeks the number of people wearing masks has decreased to the point where I'm no longer comfortable going in some stores that have a lot of customers.
I do wear one when in a doctors office or shopping but I would be livid if I was forced to cause my governor says I have to. We have 3 family members who are in the medical field and all three say the same thing: the biggest problem is: there is no way of knowing if a person can spread the disease if the do not show symptoms. We may be fooling ourselves thinking the masks are doing any good or if some, much. It appears, in the states that have loosened up the increase of COVID traced to restaurants, churches etc is very mild. Ir is almost a non issue. The best thing and hopefully everyone follows is not to go out in public if there is any reason what so ever to think you might be infected.

Unfortunately, a rise in the number of confirmed cases is now occurring in those very places, and not just in California.

After months of lockdown in which outbreaks of the coronavirus often centered in nursing homes, prisons and meatpacking plants, the nation is entering a new and uncertain phase of the pandemic. New Covid-19 clusters have been found in a Pentecostal church in Oregon, a strip club in Wisconsin and in every imaginable place in between.

In Baton Rouge, La., at least 100 people tested positive for the virus after visiting bars in the Tigerland nightlife district, popular among Louisiana State University students.

At a Christian summer camp near Colorado Springs, at least 11 employees fell ill just before the season’s opening, leading the camp to cancel overnight stays for the first time in 63 years.

And in Las Vegas, just weeks after casinos reopened, a handful of employees from casinos, restaurants and hotels have tested positive, and frightened workers on Monday begged guests to wear masks in a news conference conducted over video.

The newly emerging clusters — which vary in size from a handful of cases to hundreds and have cropped up in large cities as well as small towns — reflect the unpredictable course of the coronavirus.

So you seem to recognize the important of wearing a mask indoors but would refuse to if a governor issued a mandate to simply out of spite? Do you realize how childish that sounds?

Well isn't that kind of the whole point behind everyone wearing a mask;that you may be spreading the virus even you don't have symptoms?

Widespread mask use has been attributed to preventing widespread outbreaks in other countries so it's not really completely up in the air whether they do good or not.

One family has learned that a local Walmart takes its face mask policy seriously.

After a father refused the store manager’s request that his two children wear face coverings while inside the retailer, the Turlock, Calif., police escorted the family outside.

Here in Ga it's hit or miss. Costco requires masks, but no one else. I was in Walmart yesterday. Between me and a few others, I'd say about 1/3 of us wore masks. It's the same at Home depot and lowes and grocery stores. In Tenn it's an even lower number.

My neighbor is making masks and selling them in her Etsy store. She's actually sold more by word of mouth, though.

If you need one, take a look.

How come so many of the "Karens" on these state/city forums are male? Why are they called "Karens"?
