The story is about the raw sewage being dumped into the ocean, by way of the Tijuana River crossing over the border into the U.S. It's flowing into the ocean on the U.S. side of the border. It hasn't made big headlines so I'm not sure how or whether it's being addressed down that way. Other important matters have gobbled up news time, lately.

I do know is that the ocean has an immense power to rejuvenate itself but if this continues, it may end up spreading north, along the beaches and could be deadly for beach goers.

Have you heard anything about this?

Yes, quite a mess. It has affected Imperial Beach since forever ... Imperial Beach is California’s furthest south beach town, right on the Mexican border. Cool place. Funky vibe. Never really developed because of this sewage problem ... but now developers are starting to squeeze out the old funkiness (sadly), in anticipation that the sewage problem will have to be resolved finally.

1AngryTaxpayer started a thread on the topic some time back. It revives from time to time. In the San Diego forum.

Personally, I have history with Imperial Beach that goes back over 50 years as there is an airfield annex to Coronado’s North Island Naval Air Station there ... home to helicopter squadrons I served with in the 60s and 70s. Loved the town.

Did not realize 1ATP had a thread. I rarely check into the regional threads as most are in places I don't live so I can't contribute with any expertise. I'll check it out, though.

I hope they're able to clean that up soon. It's a darned shame it hasn't been done before now, since what you say about it having been a problem for a long time. I guess nothing comes to light until it's a featured story on 60 Minutes. smh

Well, it’s been no secret in San Diego all these years. Running foul joke, so to speak.

Shows just how big the state is when that sort of news doesn't make it all the way up here. I never hear bad things about San Diego, though. Of course, I don't go looking for any, either. <shrug>
