8 people in the world are worth $100B+ as of today, and 4 of them are products of Silicon Valley's billionaire making machine, as it were.

Elon Musk now lived in Los Angeles, but now lives in Austin, TX
Mark Zuckerberg lives in Palo Alto
Larry Page lives in Palo Alto
Sergey Brin lives in Los Altos Hills

*Larry Ellison would be 5th, he keeps going back and forth between $100B and just shy of that mark-he lived in Woodside but recently changed his permanent residence to Lanai, Hawaii(he owns 98% of the Island)

What exactly is your point? CA is gifted with ports on a west coast, mild climates? It ranges over 1000 miles long one way and 500 hundred the other with precious resources.

It's like bragging about being the best looking person on the Kardashians. Most people that have wealth here were lucky as hell.

Actually Elon Musk still lives in California he is constantly spotted by the Hollywood Reporter on YouTube and has said he is not moving after all. I think California is very lucky to have SF/LA talent all in one state.

True, and what does their wealth have to do with the average person in the State. It does not make them look any better because very rich people live in CA?

Then again: why would we limit discussions on this forum to relevance to ‘average people’? When I post a thread about marine life in the news, or a state park opening / closing, the issues aren’t about ‘average people’

I think what's more important than 8 people is that the state continues to dominate venture funding. The media loses its mind if someone in Austin raises a $50 million fund, but says nothing if someone in Menlo Park raises $1 billion.

For a supposedly leftwing state CA encapsulates the worst of capitalism.

I appreciate your threads, and true, who said we are only allowed to discuss the 'average' person?
