Hi all, might get a job in the south Vista area but would prefer to live close enough to walk to the beach if possible. How bad is the commute from beach area of Carlsbad to south Vista? Thanks in advance and any other advice about the area is welcomed.

To get a better response, maybe post this in the "San Diego" sub-forum

Traffic will be going the other way. Assuming you’re working normal business hours?

The drive would be more than reasonable unless your tolerance for commuting is super low.

Thanks Guy In SD. I definitely thought about it but wasn’t sure where to post.
I’m not sure what shift I may be working yet, could be anything to be honest. I guess I’m looking for worse case scenario times. Sorry, I should have added more detail. It’s a half and half chance I’ll end up here or Ventura area so just trying to gather info to make the best decision. Thank you to all.

"Worst case scenario?"

Walking from Vista to the beach?

Ok, figure it's about a 13-14 mile walk, each way. Vista can be as close as 5 or 6 miles to the beach, but you wanted "worst case" so there you have it. Vista is fairly large, land wise.

How long does it take you to walk a 26 mile marathon? That's how long it'll take you to get to/from the beach. Taking a bus might be a better solution, but not much better. A car would be best.

Lol, thanks for the reply. I meant walking distance to the beach around Carlsbad etc, I would drive to work in Vista and was asking worse case for that commute, near the beach in Carlsbad to drive to south Vista. Either way, just found out I’m headed to Ventura area instead. Was a toss up at my job and it was either Vista area or Ventura but it is Ventura. Just was trying to do some research. Thanks for the replies

I'd pick Ventura over Vista, too. Good choice.
