Just wondering if the Day without a Gay had an impact? I didn't even know about it till the news reported that it had happened. My brother who is Gay didn't want to take the time off from work to support it.

One guy at work suggested a year without a well you know what I am getting at.

I just don't see the economy in its current situation as a time to take off from work. What do you think?

It did not affect me at all.

I saw the announcement for it on facebook - a friend was "planning to attend" - you know those big facebook invitations or announcements - so I checked it out. I thought it was very beautifully and respectfully worded. I personally have no problem with the concept of people taking off work whenever they need to. But am not sure how this relates specifically to the state of California.

The SF Chronicle said it was a bust.

'Day without a gay' protest fizzles

Well, It did confirm one of my co-workers was gay. Ended the "is he or is'nt he" debate.

The idea for the Day without a Gay was because of the success of Proposition 8 a California thing. ( I was a supporter of Prop 8 and still am, although I have a gay brother, gay friends, and some of my wifes cousins are gay.) As far as the economic affect I didn't notice anything.

Is that supposed to somehow tell us that Prop 8 wasn't against their interests? Unbelievable self-righteous bigotry.
