Last call at 1;30 gives you a chance to find a liquor store. Some stores like AM/PM have their own policy on no sales after 1 am, but many stores will sell right up to 2am.

I have found some odd loop holes when traveling. A state with no Sunday sales - you can buy at the hotel or restaurants.

You think California's bad... try Texas. The liquor Gestapo in that state have been known to set up in hotel bars and arrest over imbibers on their way back to their rooms. That's on their way back as in walking. Inside.

Start drinking earlier! 11:30 is too late, at some places the headlining band is already done. Go out at 8 and you have 6 hours to party.

Well I certainly never heard of that happening in Texas, I would guess the person was quite over the line and being drunk in public is reason for an arrest, like it or not...As for some of the other Texas laws, they used to close the liquor stores at 9pm on Saturdays. I don't know if that has changed or not, isn't that carrying things a little far.

It was all over the news last year, or maybe the year before. And it was persons, as in a bunch. It was an operation by the Texas state ABC.

Dude, just be happy you can buy booze on Sunday. In our state you can buy shotgun shells, lottery tickets, cigarettes on Sunday, but not alcohol!!! Funny too because Sunday is when I usually feel like having a few beers but if I don't stock up Saturday I'm screwed.
As far as clubs, I don't do "clubbin" and I think 2AM is late enough. Maybe they do that so residents are not kept up all night by the riff raff?

It was that way for along time in lots of places, in fact you can't buy it on Sundays in Texas either. In NM you can buy it after noon, but not before. Here in AR we can buy it on Sundays in the counties that are yet, which isn't many I may add.
