No, but we did have a 60-foot pine tree get uprooted last night from Hurricane Sandy --- it fell onto a Mercedes in the parking lot of the condo complex where I live (in Southern Ontario). oops!

Heard of something similar happening in Brantford.. Same one?
We have quite a few of them here in southern Ontario. Tornado alley runs from Windsor eastwards through London and Woodstock then takes off a little nothwards up through the countryside right up to Lake Huron and Georgian Bay on it's eastern most point. In the 70s I lived near the little town of Teeswater On. In the 5 years I lived there we had 4 twisters that came within a mile of the house. Back in 85 I think it was, a Tornado hit Barrie On and leveled a neighbourhood. I was supposed to have been roofing a house in that neighbourhood that day but had decided at 7am that morning the weather looked too bad so we stayed in Collingwood and roofed a house there instead. The weird thing was that although the twister leveled that neighbourhood the house I had the contract to reroof was not touched at all. Not one single shingle even got blown off and the house next door wasn'r even there after the storm passed by.
Do Quebeckers know the difference between "tornadoes" and "tournedos"?
Yes, the occasional tornado occurs in Quebec, I recall that a historic church was ruined by a brief tornado out in the countryside a few years ago and that made the news. In general, they are brief and rare.
I remember a bad one hit Edmonton some years ago. Is it unusual for them to appear so far north?
