Somehow, I fail to see how having US green card makes getting Canadian PR so much more easier than for anybody else.
The last time I looked, there were no special provisions in the Canadian Immigration programs for US residents.
There's not. However, having gone through the green card process in the US, I can't imagine anything being more difficult or labyrinthine anywhere on the planet.

Yes, but does it mean that Canadian immigration will give you a break and let you in more easily than anybody else just because you have been through the green card process in the US before?

No. Which is what I said in the first two words of my previous post.
Just wait until somewhere late May and visit the Canada immigration site again. End of May they should start accepting applications as a federal skilled worker again with a set of new rules.
That will give you an idea how the new process will look, either you qualify, how to apply and maybe a rough idea about processing times.
Correct. As well as the subsequent ones, up to and including this one.
By the way, how is the weather in Houston at the moment?
