Unless it's something you can't get in Canada, why not support a local business and contribute to the Canadian economy at the same time? This is a little off topic, but when I see stories in the news about Canadians flocking across the border to shop for "deals" in the USA, I just want to gag. I'm also wondering if when they tally all of their "savings" they factor in the time wasted traveling all that distance and the cost of the gas? Probably not. It's too bad that all this hyper-patriotism we see in Canada nowadays doesn't extend to supporting our own businesses (or the arts, or culture and heritage)...
In my case, it's an item not from the US or Canada, but from another country. Does that matter?
(It's not expensive, $5-10 each, just not available here.)
