I find it the same. When I'm in the US, I buy organic chicken etc, since their regular chicken ( I'm sure it varies across the US, but I'm speaking mainly about Washington State and Southern California ) I find bland.
I thought it was just me, but a close friend form SoCal says the same. That our regular chicken has more flavour. Even the texture can be different.

As for dairy, well I think most know how I feel about that. No BGH to worry about.

The same can be said of bread. No bromate in Canadian bread. From a quick Google.

"Potassium bromate is also illegal in the European Union, Canada, Brazil and elsewhere because it causes cancer in rats and mice. In the United States, however, it has remained legal since it was first patented for use in baking bread, in 1914.Mar 16, 2012"
