"Very-cold" is meaning what, 20 F? That equals -7 C.
20 F would be a HEAT WAVE in Yellowknife for Dec, Jan or Feb.
95% of the time I see their forecasts, their highs are bewteen -26 C to -37 C.
Convert that to Fahrenheit that's around -15 F to -34 F.
That's not counting the chill of a hint of wind (if it gets windy), humidity (they're on a giant lake) or the overnight lows.
Overnight lows? I see them normally getting down as low as -45 or -46 C.
That's like -50 F.
*Again, not factoring in windchill.
