When has anything been said about Hispanics, exceapt that I've noticed you making sarcastic remarks which I took to be in reference to something happening south of the border? I've not noticed anyone staying quiet about blacks. I stay quiet about natives because I've read the vitriol directed at them and I think I already made it plain where I stand on that subject years ago. And honestly, some insults cannot be answered.
Anti-Muslim biogtry flourishes here. It's fairly new biogtry, and a dangerous bigotry in this day and age. Some people chose to answer, but really, if one isn't liking the answers or choosing to educate themselves, there's nothing much to be said without it turning into a 30 page thread, and in my recollection of past threads, it is turned hostile quickly by bigots. Not closet bigots either.
All bigotry is dangerous. Why would and bigotry towards others be any less worrisome? Thanks for proving my point.
I was wondering why you gave a flip unless government funds would be used to celebrate Islam during that month and you disapproved of that as preferential treatment.
Edited to quote your own words - “I do think it is shame Canadians view some as important and others not so much.”
I find that Canada goes through periods where certain groups are almost the flavour of the month that everyone has to "be especially nice to" and express sympathy for. Right now at least from my vantage point it seems to be Muslims and indigenous peoples. (There may be regional variancies but overall that's my observation.)
At other times in history it might be other groups that get the special attention. In my lifetime it has even at one point been the case for the group I am a part of (francophone Canadians), but that was quite some time ago.
I prefer to be nice and fair to everyone. But to call out stupidity too when deserved - based on actual behaviour and not presumptions.

You can't be serious.

But with Muslims it is worth saying something right. This is rather unfortunate since you are from Manitoba.
What is more dangerous out here on the prairies? Racism towards Natives or???? No it must be Islamaphobia!:s mack:
Perhaps you missed the threads in the past where this was brought up. I believe I've made the point on more than one occasion that racism is alive and well in Canada, it is only that the target is not the same as in the US. As with you and Muslims, just where do you think posts against racism against natives go?
It's funny that when someone tries to engage you in a serious subject and gives you every opportunity to make your case, you want to name call. Whatever. It's why I generally don't bother responding to racists or bigots.

The only reason you answered was because I mentioned Muslims. Had is said something about Buddhist or people from Somalia you wouldn't have said a thing. This is my only complaint. I am willing to bet I personally know more Muslims than you do.
