Is it practical to try to shoehorn people into Anglophone, Francophone, or Allophone categories? What about Pierre Trudeau, son of Francophone father and Anglophone mother? Or Anne-Marie Withenshaw, daughter of Anglophone father and Francophone mother? Or Alex Trebek, son of Ukrainian immigrant father and Francophone mother?

If you were both, you would be bilingual. Francophone and Anglophone refer to usages of language, not ethnic or cultural groups.

It does refer to language, but in a Quebec context it is also akin to an ethnic of cultural group. I have known people who would be considered both English and French mother tongue and would likely list both as mother tongue on the census. It's probably not that different from being biracial in some societies, in that it can feel like belonging in two different groups.

I know. But it's not extreme in the way that MOS is looking for.

That's true. There's alot nuance to language politics and identities in Quebec and most people don't bat and eye at it. Like the trilingual person who speaks Portugese with their family, English with their spouse, and French with their friends and at work.

There are certainly quite a few Canadians who consider themselves both anglophone and francophone. The PM is likely one of them.

Personally I could probably fit the bill but I don't really consider myself anglophone as there are political and community implications related to that that I don't really identify with.

Plus both my parents are francophone so that's another thing that is different from most people who think they're "both".

To me, being bilingual is a linguistic skill, not a personal identity.

Likely not. Just francophone I'd say.
