I am planning to move to Alberta,I have exeperience in Mechanical design/drafting and quality inspection with degree in Mechanical Technology. I am presently located in Toronto.Can anybody help me in finding a job and accommodation in Alberta as i don't have any friends/relatives in Alberta. Thanks
A couple of posters have mentioned they would like to move to Alberta, but they have no friends or relatives there. I was just wondering what reasons people may have (in general) to decide to move to a place they seem to have no connection with.
Incidentally, I'm in that process myself. I decided I will be moving to Toronto or Victoria (to be decided yet) next year, when I get my PR papers. My reason is purely practical: my temporary visa in the US will end, and a Canadian PR visa presents itself as an opportunity to finally settle down in one place. Why Toronto or Victoria? Toronto because it's a large city, and I hope to find more opportunities in my area. Victoria because of the beauty of the place. I have not been to any of the two, mind you (I wonder if the previous posters who asked about Alberta already know the city they have chosen as their destination).
