FreeSpirit1992 - one thing I admire about alternative options is that one really has to "put their money where their mouth is" because it's not likely covered by insurance, etc. So you really have to be cautious and do diligent research with those decisions - as with any serious consequence really.

Also, alt med type treatment often means stuff YOU DO rather than a medical procedure that is done to you (though that is in alt med as well) -- it often requires a very active role by the patient. It's the route I would seriously consider for myself.

I recently became aware of baking soda/maple syrup -- and one thing about it (ironic) is that it's TOO CHEAP - there's no money in it -- for conventional medicine to work with (to research or use).... yet it's being used very successfully (in other countries) by:
Dr Mark Sircus (Brazil)
Articles by Dr. Mark Sircus

And Dr Tullio Simoncini (Italy)
The recent discovery of an Italian oncologist and research scientist, Dr. Tullio Simoncini of Rome, enabled him to develop a procedure that produces spectacular results in treating breast cancer. (2007)
Cancer Candida and Fungus - Dr. Simoncini natural sodiumbicarbonate cancertherapy

If interested, DM me for recent radio interview link with Dr Sircus. Very interesting. Also I believe I found an interview of Dr Simoncini on You Tube.

Pardon up front for any offense, but these are only claims with little if anything to back them up. Don't you think that if getting rid of cancer was as simple as downing some baking soda we'd know about it by now? The idea that sodium bicarbonate is or could be "the most effective cancer medicine there is" is blatantly absurd. These are little more than quacks and scam artists making money off of people who cringe at the thought of surgery, chemo etc and want a "natural cure" for cancer so badly that they buy into one which isn't proven in the least that some web site claims is the answer.

PS and oh btw: "Dr" Sircus (I would think "Circus" is a better spelling) isn't even a doctor: http://curezone.com/books/best/authorx.asp?ID=639 From the link: "Dr. Mark Sircus, one of the most prolific writers in medicine, holds the honorary title of doctor of Oriental medicine and was one of the first nationally certified acupuncturists in the United States."

Oh yeah, that's who I want to entrust my life to.

Want more? Simoncini thinks cancer is a fungus. Good grief. Cancer is a fungus - the book by Dr. T. Simoncini

Don't get me wrong: I am all for people exploring new ways to battle cancer (to say the very least) and remain hopeful that if not a "cure" something which reliably prevents, slows, or eradicates many if not all forms of cancer will be found that works better than what we have now, and preferably is not as hard on a person's body...and unlike many of the test tube groupies, I keep an open mind to the possibilities, including "natural" ones.

But until such a thing is proven and verified to work with any real consistency, it's empty claims and people need to keep their eyes wide open and not believe something just because they want it to be true. Of course "it's a free country" as they say, and people can believe whatever they want. I just cringe every time I see something like this because I fear people who's lives might be otherwise saved will die because they buy into something like this.

This is most likely true because it apparently was a problem even many years ago. I talked with somebody once who had been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 13 and refused to go through chemo. His parents supported his decision, but did have to go through court battles. This happened at least 20+ years ago. The guy is fine to this day. Whatever he did worked!

What some say about being willing to try alternative treatments AFTER chemo don't understand that once that poison has been in your body it'd be already too late.

I have no idea how this can make sense. Can you elaborate? You're saying alternative methods can't be effective after chemo? And what do you base that on?

PS: that poison is also poisonous to cancer cells. That's why it's used.

Many "quacks" got rich by selling alternative medicine treatment to people with terminal cancer.

Shame on them ! ( for sucking more money out of that person shortly before death)

Of course, those " quacks" got a perfect alibi to stand behind.
They claim------" if only you had come to us sooner"--as they quickly cash the checks $$$$$$ before the person dies.
