even if there is plenty of food in the bowl, my cats wake me up crying. Then all we have to do is stir up the food (dry) with our hand to make a noise and then they think they have new food and are happy.
Too funny! G.D. Cat has an automatic feeder for her dry food, but before she will eat, you have to "freshen" it for her (sometimes add a handful or stir it around a little). Even though there is always food in the dish, she comes after us, pesting and meowing, until you doctor it for her.
