We got a total of 3 cat trees/perches in our house for our cat. 2 are from Petco and 1 from Petsmart
She likes this one
Petco Premium Tree Bungalow for Cats - Cat Tree and Cat Furniture from petco.com

She rarely uses this one
Petco Premium Tree Terrace for Cats - Cat Furniture Tree Scratching Post - petco.com

and this one she sleeps on, when I am on my PC
Couldn't find the one we have from Petsmart, but it is similar to this one; we paid no more than $ 60.- for it

It's the perfect height because she's up pretty high but not so high I can't get her
I agree about the height My kitties like being up high and I like that I can still pet them if they're curled up on the top perch.

I have been searching for something that would look nice in my living room and came up with several choices. They get spendy real quick though.

this one I thought I could make, cut out some pass-through circles and add carpet pads

This one I would put some same color carpet pads on the shelves and some rope around the X

This one has many configerations to fit your wall space

This one is cute

I like the idea of using a sturdy tree too
