I'm not familiar with the ones you listed. I did use RadioCat in Delaware. I wonder if they are affiliated with the places you listed. If you have any general questions about the experience just ask away!
How did it go? I have a good understanding of the procedure at this point. Just worried there is some other underlining issue such as kidneys or something which they say doesn't surface under maybe after the hyperthyroidism is under control.
One place I found I can schedule for next Monday and the other place isn't until the 24th. Is it best sooner the better? Did your cat require a 2nd injection?

After the treatment was completed, my regular vet scheduled follow up appts. to check blood work for the kidneys and a retest of the thyroid to make sure the treatment was successful. Gizmo did not need a second injection. The first injection was a success. I scheduled the treatment as soon as the vet gave me the green light, meaning that Gizmo's kidney function was normal at that time.
My understanding is you need levels under control first, so ASAP isn't necessarily best. Is your own vet versed in recommending this at all?
Do you mean thyroid levels or kidney function? My vet said as long as every thing is ok with the kidneys it was safe to proceed with the treatment. The vet said it was important to check kidney function after the treatment too.
Mine has said the same thing. For now, kidneys are functioning in the normal range.

A higher thyroid reading doesn't necessarily mean a 2nd injection would be needed correct? I have heard from some that had only an slightly elevated reading that ended up still needing a 2nd injection.

I can't answer that question. Your vet is the one to ask about this. Sorry. Gizmo's thyroid levels were normal after the injection. My vet checked his levels twice. First, a month after the injection, then at 6 months after the injection.
