This made me shed a tear.

Kitten Lost Her Best Friend. What Her Human Did to Make Her Feel Better Will Warm Your Heart | One Green Planet

Quote:
We have seen countless stories of cats and dogs who have put their differences aside and became best friends, but this story of a cat and dog friendship is unlike any we’ve seen before. Scout the kitten was brought into the home of Charlie the dog when she was no more than 5 and a half weeks old. Whether Charlie had a say in the matter or not is unknown, but Scout curled herself right in the middle of Charlie’s lap and just like that their friendship was set.

Me too. That was so sweet and sour. Perhaps they'll get Scout another friend.

What a sweet, sad story. I think Scout would bond with another friend if her people got her one.

I foster and rescue. Sometimes the fosters become permanents and sometimes they get adopted. The animals that remain almost always show signs of sadness at the departures. We had one feral puppy here that bonded instantly with my service dog and I know it was their friendship that helped him become the sweet, loving puppy that was adopted within 6 weeks of his arrival. While the cats missed him, my service dog went through a period where she looked for him all over. What helped her was taking in 3 abandoned kittens that instantly bonded with her - and they are now permanently her "babies".

Oh, the kitty sitting on the laptop was so bittersweet.
