My cats will join me for breakfast and then they return to the bedroom to snooze for several hours.

I have always thought it was strange that they go back to BED to nap. I mean, yes the bedroom is dark, and usually cooler (in the summer) than the rest of the house, and much more quiet. I am wondering if anyone elses cats do this.

After a couple of hours they will come out and join me in the living room, where, off and on, they continue to nap (they're CATS, AFTER ALL). But when "serious" snoozing is in the offing, they almost always retire to the bedroom.

They also sneak back there at night after dinner for a nap. It's kind of funny, actually.

Maybe your kitties recognize the bed room as their main den.

Our cats generally snooze everywhere. I haven't noticed a trend like you describe.

Maybe the bed is most roomy, comfortable and safe (out of the main line of traffic) and has your "smell" on it.

Kind of like when a former gal pal used to wear my shirts...

Our kitties prefer to nap on our bed as well. If we leave the door open for even five minutes, they know it, and in they go. With quite self-satisfied looks on their little faces when they get caught, as well. It doesn't matter what time of day it is; if the bed is available to them, it must be nap time.

We've noticed that when we're home in the daytime, they both seek out nap buddies around 11 a.m. If either of us are lying on the couch or chair, or taking a mid-morning nap, they want to snuggle up with us.

I have seasonal cats. I notice in the Winter they nap in a particular room. In the Spring they nap somewhere else and so forth. And each one has their favorite spot where the other isn't allowed.

When one of our cats is serious about sleeping, she crawls under the covers, and I mean WAAAY under the covers, to sleep.

This is quite adorable. My cats tend to nap pretty much anywhere in the house. Just depends on their mood i guess-and they have several LOL. This morning they were in the bed with me...a pleasant surprise. A good start to my day

My BigGirl naps everywhere in the house and patio. After breakfast, she goes outside to get a drink from the puddle pool, talk to the birds and squirrels in the trees, then settles down for a nap by the door. In the afternoon, she will go to the back bedroom to nap on the table near the windows. She rarely gets on the bed, except overnight. She will spend time in the bedroom closet or under the bed when there is a thunderstorm. There is forcast here to have thunderstorms the next four days! Guess she doesn't see one coming yet, as she is at present asleep on the patio!

Yep, my cat does this every workday! We all get up between 5:30 - 6:00 AM, and I take the dog out to take care of business. When I come back in I start the tea kettle, feed the two of them and go make the bed. By the time the tea is ready to drink, kitty is back on the bed, all curled up and ready to nap, puppy is back in his doggie bed!!
