Period, go 1 yr if you even need it at all?

We got a new cat and I called the vet about chipping and also asked about rabies. Our county requires it unfortunately. If you go to the vet, they have to report the pet. You have to proof they have the rabies vaccine (all about money, you have to pay tax on the pet too).

He said that unfortunately people and vets over vaccinate, but they have to, due to the the county requirements.

What is the difference between 1 and 3 year shot? Never heard about that “bad stuff” you mention. It sounds convinient and our previous cat was on 3 years due to the bad reactions he had after each shot.

Update: did some googling and found that there seem to be also 3 years without this stuff?

3 yr is w/ adjuvant to extend. 1 yr is minus it. I would only go 1 yr, as it'll reduce chances re problems of the 3 yr w/ adjuvant. Take your new kitty 1 yr/time rather than open kitty to bigger chance of this concern. All just what I've been told.

Never give more than one vaccine at a time.

Feline leukemia is not a necessary vaccine. My cat only gets the rabies vax every 3 years and FVRCP every 4 years.
