I liked him in a lot of his films but he didn't have that extra something which makes a great acter.

he wasn't known as a ladies man. There was never any rumor of such all during his marriage to his beloved Joanne. In fact he once said,"Why try hamburger when you have steak at home".
But you're right that he was very charitable.

love the old movies....It seems that P Newman was a very good natured and gutsy guy all round. Good combination. I think the directors in the old movies though, had more competition with regards to expected and often achieved quality in the buisness. You can see it. I don't think P Newman would have been as remarkably impressive today, only for the useless directors...wanna example?

Ron (I want my mommy) Howard. He couldn't get the emotions up to get on track with a mosiquto quarrel

Just like the entertainment ,very flaky....thats why they need the violence the way its being used...its very displaced the way they use violence.

YES HE WAS DEARY>>>>>>>>>>>>> a ladies man means ladies liked him and attracted to his good looks and charm. Has nothing to do with cheating. END OR RANT

He was a ladies' man and a guy's guy. Someone who was able to make the act of charity taste as good as it felt. A speed addict who kept on revving his racing engine well into his golden years. A proud anti-celebrity who regularly threatened to retire but waited until 2007 to truly call it quits.

True, except for his Southern roles (which I REALLY liked).
He seemed the play the same guy, but in GOOD movies.
