I know the now-deceased Robert Kardashian was O.J. Simpson's attorney in his civil trial back in the 1990s (where the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman won wrongful death suits against him), but I don't think the family became famous (or infamous) because of that. I didn't start hearing about the rest of 'em until several years later.
I'm not a fan of them at all and don't ever watch their trashy shows. If it weren't for their father's role (and unusual name) in the OJ trials, I never would have heard of them- my take. If their last name was "Smith", I doubt that I would have taken notice of them.

The Kardashian girls and Rob are part Armenian (Robert Sr the lawyer was 3rd generation Armenian American). Robert being OJ's lawyer is how I first remember the name, and Kim seems to date a few famous athletes/entertainers these days. She's dated Ray-J, Reggie Bush, Miles Austin, and now Kanye West.
That family is a bit moral-less, narcissistic and sad in a pathetic way ... The Kardashian mother pimps her kids out for the big cash earning, and she thinks nothing of writing in her book how she cheated on her first husband, and now isn't too happy with her current husband ... The youngest kids get Range Rovers for their 17th birthday .... Kim makes a sex tape w/ex Reggie, Kim gets married for publicity and lets it last just long enough till it's televised on TLC, and then files for divorce, Kourtney is shacking up with some spoiled preppy twit and has 2 kids now by him and this is the new American family ?? Lord save us all now ... And, we thought Paris was bad ... LOL!!!!

I like Scott and Bruce the best..they are funny and don't themselves too serious...the rest are all spoiled people who couldn't survive without their make up artists, Botox, and attention.
I remember last year I was sick in bed for a few days and watched re-runs of the family in Bora Bora ... I was baffled when Kim lost her diamond earring in the water, and was carrying on as if she had lost her first born- crying, whining, acting like a complete hot mess and Kris, her fiance at the time was like, "Oh so what, buy a new one". LOL!!! He tried to comfort her and she wanted no part of it, she just wanted that diamond earring. It was brand new and $75,000. OMG! That's more than my car .... HAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!

Some people think that Robert Kardashian removed evidence from O.J.'s house. He left the house with a black garment bag that may have contained bloody clothes.

The sad thing is the younger generation actually thinks of the Kardashians as fine role models. My step-daughter, for instance. Despite the fact that her husband, her father, and me tell her the show is trash, she is addicted to the Kartrashians.
Me: "What has Kim actually done for a living? What actual job has she ever had?"
Step-daughter: "She was a celebrity stylist!"
Me: "What else has she accomplished?"
Step-daughter: "Her Playboy spread was the second most popular ever published!"
Me: "Is posing nude an accomplishment? We're all born without clothes!"
Step-daughter: "It was very successful! She also designs clothing and fragrances, and writes books!"
Me: "You think that she actually designs those clothes? You think the Kardashians actually write those books?"
Of course, my dear step-daughter also thinks that Justin Bieber is incredibly talented , and was confused when I told her that I didn't think the "teen moms" were great role models.
I'm afraid to ask her what she thinks of Farrah Abrahams' porno! Is this the natural career move for "performers" with no talent? Is this what the entertainment business has descended to?
This is why I refuse to watch most "reality TV". It makes A-list stars out of talentless bimbos. Besides, none of those shows are the actual "reality".
No wonder we have starlets posting "selfies" of themselves on Twitter. The younger generation of celebrities is completely self-absorbed.
