I think they could have handled it better but the truth is as long as they keep broody, moody Matt hanging around it will be difficult to fill Meredith's shoes. I don't like him, never have and I believe it was a mistake to put Ann in the chair in the first place. She just can't carry a show like that, doesn't have the "it" factor and she DEFINITELY cannot conduct an interview. It was always like watching a train wreck.
I do like Savannah but I have my doubts as to whether the switch will improve ratings. I'm just glad they didn't choose Natalie.....ick. It probably won't improve until Matt Lauer is out of the picture. I do feel a little sorry for Ann in spite of all the millions she makes, can't fix hurt feelings with any amount of money.

News has always been Ann's niche, so I don't think she'll have any problem landing on her feet elsewhere. She previously had done local news in Los Angeles, so that wouldn't be a bad market to go back to if she could.
Ann isn't going anywhere. She's still at NBC in NYC, on a new contract. She's just not on the Today Show anymore. Her feet aren't moving from the network.
Well, what it is? His less than charming personality? His less-than good looks? His crack interviewing skills? What?
Most people I know are sick of seeing him as well. Personally, I think they need to revamp the entire show - including the ever annoying Al Roker.
I watched GMA again today and everyone seemed like they were having a lot more fun than anyone on the Today set.
I agree. Everyone in that show is over 40+. The set needs a makeover. Sorry but Al and Matt need to take a hike as well.
