Desperate attempt to get another TV deal...needs cash. I thought we were on the verge of not hearing those names ever again, except maybe in a footnote when they pass away.
Their relationship (when they were together) reminds me of my parents' in some way. My mom is always nagging at my dad and my dad was always taking it for no reason. Not to mention that Jon is Korean like my dad and my mom's white like Kate.

I understand what you are saying, but from my limited viewing of the show, it was Kate who showed the shrew long before Jon's inner creep became apparent.
They do keep themeselves out there for tabloid fodder.
