I remember loving to watch Valerie (later Hogan family) when I was a kid. Very sad to hear this.

I just bought her book and haven't even begun reading it yet.............now this news
I never want any doc giving me a time frame.......hell-lie to me or say nothing; but to tell someone they have maybe 3 months...............horrid!! I certainly wouldn't spend those 3 months chasing a cure with radiation and such..............hell to the no. I would be checking things off my bucket list.
No one should spend their last 3 months rec. meds that are not going to work and she will be sick all the time.

God Bless her.

Valerie Harper Terminal Brain Cancer: 'Mary Tyler Moore Show' Star Reveals Tragic Illness
Quote:
“The side of my face started to feel kind of numb. I was slurring my speech,” Harper told the New Yorker that month. Doctors had ruled out a stroke and her spirits were high.
Quote:
People magazine reported Wednesday that Harper was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer -- specifically leptomeningeal carcinomatosis -- on Jan. 15 and doctors say she may have as little as three months to live.
Quote:
The cancer she has now comes from another primary cancer, in her case, the lung cancer.

I didn't know she had fought lung cancer.

I just heard this on the news. So very sad. A couple of weeks ago I saw her being interviewed on the Jeff Probst show. She was so lively and happy. Just a treat to watch. She talked about beating her lung Cancer and how she had always lived a healthy life.

I hope she does not suffer in her last days.

Yes, very sad. I really only know her from the show "Valerie", I think that's what it was called, & even that is vague but what a terrible thing. And she looked very good in that clip of an interview I saw from January where she had just found out.

Wow, very sorry to hear this! I loved Rhoda, the character and the show. And when she married her hunky man, (David Groh), well, that was a very popular episode. Now there is a show that should come to TVLand or similiar station.
