It isn't unusual for a person that is a little different(strange) to get undue media hyp. I guess it makes money to hyp up some weird individuals. Think of Tiny Tim years ago. But what about Liberace. Was he hyped up or a great pianist.

Yes, kind of a prodigy.

He was actually a great pianist whose talent became overshadowed by the ostentatiousness of his onstage persona.

He was extremely talented. YouTube is full of clips of his performances of classical pieces. Stunning.

I don't know how anyone could listen to him play the piano and not think he was a great pianist.

Liberace also took a 17-year old kid with no family off the streets, promised to adopt him, then corrupted him (and worse).

Notwithstanding his considerable and unmistakable talent, he's no one to glorify. Not in my book, anyway.

That's like asking if Elton John was/is a great songwriter. Both enhanced their performances with flamboyance, but that doesn't take away from their natural talent.

If he molested a kid then Liberace was a creep!
