That would be Sean Connery based on his portrayal of James Bond, and his performances in movies such as Medicine Man, The Hunt for Red October, Outland, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Highlander, and Meteor.
John Wayne is my second favorite actor.

Hugh Jackman. He can act (with a pretty wide range!), he can sing, he can dance, he's funny, he's pretty easy on the eyes, and by all accounts he seems to be a genuinely nice guy ... pretty much the whole package for me.
Johnny Depp would be top of the short list, followed by
Russel Crowe,
Tom Cruise,
John Wayne,
James Cagney
Jimmy Stuart
I'm realizing my favorite actor cant be summed up with just one and comprises dozens of actors.

Top actors all. They sure have a facility to 'get into' and present the 'truth' of characters regardless of the role. I'll add Michael Caine to that list. Sure he did some clunkers which he'd admit to but arguably an 'actor's actor'. We have to be thankful for 'Zulu'...;-)... A professional to the core when it comes to his work.
Johnny Depp is top on my list. I also enjoy Gerard Butler in all his "action" films.
Depp to me is the best of the best. He's not afraid to take "weird" parts and he does a fantastic job doing so. Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite movies (all 3 of them). Sweeney Todd to me was great.
