Oh, I thought it was Terese. That explains it. J.C. is the crazy one.
Still, as I said, he needs to accept responsibility for their estrangement as an adult. Also, I remember him making noises about writing a tell-all book ala Mommie Dearest, so there's that.
He sort of does in that post, as he stresses his guilt over not making more of a concerted effort to reconnect with her.

Ryan claims he was stopped from seeing his dying father by his then wife.. even calling the police to keep him away.. this man has been shunned once and now shunned again...

I don't think this story has played out. There is a strong suggestion of collusion between his stepmother and Day's 'manager' to keep Ryan out of her life (and her will).

Sad news RIP.I wasn't a serious fan of her songs or movies, but I never heard anyone ever utter a bad word about her.
Also dead, Tim Conway. Can we include someone awful to conclude the "Rule of Three?" Rule of Three | Legacy.com
The only musical film, which I enjoyed that starred Doris Day, is "The Pajama Game." This film was released in 1957, and was based on the Broadway musical of the same name.
All of the principal performers from the stage production were cast for the film version, except for Janis Paige, who had the lead female role which was given to Day for the film.
This film was one of the last Broadway musicals to be successfully transferred to the screen. The era of musicals was declining by the late 1950s.
Seems Doris life was taken over by a family...who ruled the roost..
Sadly, she had no family to stick up for her in her dotage. Ryan was all she had, the only child of an only child of an only child. This is a situation we've seen before, and oftentimes it does not end well. Opportunists move in with their own best interests in mind.
